I serve others by being a professional perceiver. I believe that relationships are at the center of every design project. I design to bring people together. By building bridges of transparency from one person to another, I believe we can experience the world we share in a more fulfilling light.

Design Philosophy

Build something users love.

Build something
users love.

I believe in the business strategy of building things that people love to use. Focusing on continuously refining the core features of your product will make you more competitive in the market. Word of mouth marketing is still and always will be the most valuable marketing channel. If you are not proud of what you have built, you are not done.

Strong opinions loosely held.

Strong opinions
loosely held.

It is our job as designers to vocalize what we perceive to be the next step forward, but as soon as an unforseen insight comes to light, the designer must be willing to adapt and reevaluate their vision. Leadership is a highly valuable character trait of any designer, even though they aren’t the ones making the final decision.

Craft with minimalist clarity.

Craft with
minimalist clarity.

My craft follows a minimalist approach that tends to the requirements at hand, but one that does not sacrifice on the experience of the user. As a pixel-perfectionist, I put in the extra work needed to make sure my users are never confused or in limbo within the product. I highly value clear visual hierarchies and constant reevaluation of them while designing.

I come with some knowledge…

As a designer, I greatly value personal growth and diversity of knowledge. I am a more balanced designer as I broaden my understanding of the world as it relates to design, and the industries I work within.

VP of Product & Head of Design

Luke is a skilled, multi-talented product designer. He cares deeply about the details, and his designs are polished and thoughtful as a result. He has experience developing design systems, designing whole products and feature sets, and conducting user research. He’s skilled at UI design, reviewing front end designs with engineers, and thinking through how to best solve user problems. During our time together at PLACE, Luke brought his enthusiasm to improving our workflows in Figma, Notion, Productboard, and Slack, and always had ideas for optimization in general. He excelled at designing core features for our CRM, Marketer, AI, and Recruiter products, and when I asked him to step in and lend a hand on web design or visual project, he created beautiful, effective solutions. Luke is motivated and he’s a proactive communicator. He’s creative, artistic, and a man of many talents. It would be a pleasure to work with him again someday, and I know he’ll go far in his career!

Luke was my go-to designer for the products I managed at PLACE. While Luke is incredibly friendly and easy to get along with, the main reason I went to him for my projects is because of his ability to craft designs that enabled my dev teams to navigate around technical debt and deliver exceptional value. Any competent designer should be able to come up with nice-looking designs. However, it takes the kind of exceptional talent and experience that Luke has in order to produce beautiful work while also avoiding technical rabbit holes and meeting business objectives. I sincerely hope I can work with Luke again one day.

It was a pleasure working alongside Luke on projects and designing/maintaining the design system. He was incredibly well organized and very attentive to detail in his work. In peer reviews he often provided both far-thinking, creative suggestions as well nuanced, low-lift wins aimed at improving the user's experience. His zeal for staying savvy on the cutting edge of UI/UX design trends & best practices was evident in the sleek & friendly nature of his designs in the areas of the products that he re-envisioned. Luke showed up each day full of energy (not to mention a tasteful touch of good humor) and was passionate about taking a user-centered approach to his work.
